| Mr. Benner's and Ms. Lindorfer's classes have been focusing on building community in the classroom. Students continue to work on rituals and routines of the classroom along with how to be caring, open minded risk takers.
PYP: We are currently beginning the unit titled "Do You See What I See?". Students will be learning how people use visual arts as a means of expressing themselves. Be sure to checkout fourth grade artwork at the next PYP night.
Math: Mr. Benner's class is working on unit 6 which covers creating and measuring angles, division and latitude and longitude. Ms. Lindorfer's class is starting unit 7 which deals with understanding the concept of fractions and decimals, and how to add and subtract them.
Reader's Workshop: Students participate daily in Reader's Workshop. Currently our mini-lessons are focusing on being an active reader. Including asking questions, predicting, visualizing, connecting and responding to literature. Students are also learning to make inferences.
Writer's Workshop: We are working at understanding sentence structure and paragraph form. Grammar has been a big focus. Students also have 20 spelling words to study each week.
You are welcome to come in anytime and visit your child's classroom and see how they are performing. We are team!!!
