 | | | | | | Field Trips | | Our class enjoyed attending Macalaster College's presentation of
the Black Alliance Story Tellers. This performance gave the
children the opportunity to hear a variety of culturally diverse
folktales that taught us lessons that we could live by.
Many of the PYP learner profiles were addressed, which included
being a risk taker, an inquirer, and a reflective individual.
On a beautiful fall day we took a trip to the Afton Apple
Orchard. The children were able to experience a wagon ride through the
orchard while learning from our guide, Amanda Apple. She taught
us about varieties of apples, how they grow, how they are picked,
washed, and sent to our stores. We walked through a pumpkin patch
and picked our very own pumpkin to take home. After a drink of
fresh apple cider and a picnic lunch, the children loved petting and
feeding the animals in the petting zoo. We saw a donkey, goats,
pigs, and two cows. We played on the fun playground with our
friends. It was a great day! Thanks to the wonderful
families that were able to attend.
