Hola y bienvenidos a la clase de español. Me llamo Señora
Pérez. I have been with the St. Paul School District about 18
years. I have taught Spanish at the middle and elementary level.
I have also taught bilingual education and ESL classes at the high
school and elementary levels. This is my second year at Benjamin E.
Mays International
Magnet.
Besides learning basic vocabulary, we will be study some cultural
activities which include: Día de Independencia-México, Día de los
Muertos- October, Navidad-December, and Cinco de mayo-May. We
will also be reading and writing mini-stories in Spanish. I plan
to take some student to the Concordia Language Villages in April of
2008. This is an educationally, fun weekend at Lake of the Woods
(El Lago del Bosque) in Bemidji where the students are totally immersed
into the Spanish language while learning about the customs and culture
of the Spanish-speaking world. For more info about the language villages, go to http://clvweb.cord.edu
Please check our site to view the activities and vocabulary that we
are studying. The schedule has been improved this year to give the
students more time in Spanish class. The 3rd-6th graders will be
on a 2-week rotation. The 2nd graders and kindergarteners on a 2-day
rotation the first semester and a 3-day rotation the second semester.
The 1st graders will be on a 3-day rotation.
I look forward to an enriching school year. If you
have any questions, please contact me at: ann.hill-perez@spps.org or
